SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position is accountable for driving innovation and managing the innovation/strategy process throughout FCE. As a member of the administration team, the incumbent would be a leader of idea generation and implementation of strategies, business opportunities and new technologies to move the organization forward. Provide leadership to ensure a strong vision that will assure the success of digital/e-business solutions, customer experience strategies, and innovation activities. Coordinate and develop Farm Credit System and external relationships to leverage technology, systems and business processes to advance organizational strategies. Be a leader in terms of finding and developing ideas for new products, technologies and processes that align with the organizational strategic goals and initiatives. This individual would exercise significant leadership and independent judgment effectively working across various departments in carrying out the above duties. All of the above actions are taken within FCA, Bank and Association regulations and policies. The position is accountable for meeting the innovation needs of the organization, employees and overall customer experience of the Association and promoting a positive corporate image at all times.

  1. STRATEGY & INNOVATION: Provide leadership in the development and implementation of business strategies that result in a best-in-class customer experience while contributing to overall organizational growth and success.  Provide leadership and direction to support and advance a culture of innovation at FCE by utilizing various platforms and the collaborative process with CEO and senior leaders. Provide support for viable and feasible ideas and mobilize association resources to bring top ideas to reality. Analyze customer and employee feedback, service requests, and product review sites for ideas. Manage the association innovation process with strong project management skills, communication of idea stages and implementation of successful ideas. Incumbent must have a strong understanding of the needs of all stakeholders and be able to translate concept into actionable plans.
  2. STRATEGIC RELATIONSHIPS: Establishing relationships both internally and externally will help drive innovation, collaboration and idea generation. The incumbent will be responsible for maintaining FC system relationships and external entities (universities and organizations) that operate along the Associations’ interests. Provide executive leadership for the Association’s relationships with other FC system entities and coordinate opportunities for strategic business alliances to achieve Association objectives. This position requires the ability to scout, aggregate and evaluate market trends for new ideas and insights. The individual will need to be able to work across departments and have strong collaborative and communication skills.

INTEGRATION & PROCESS IMPROVEMENT: Working closely with information security and technology staff, contribute to successful software development/integration efforts, ensuring tools development meet business needs. Act as a driver of continuous improvement, identifying opportunities that positively contribute to customer and organizational success. Provide support and leadership in establishing the vision and direction for architecture design and ensuring systems are reliable, scalable, and maintainable and provide for integration and performance capabilities. Analyze new technologies to identify business fit and opportunities to automate or streamline processes without sacrificing customer experience or relationships. Ensure the company’s project management efforts support the organization’s strategic direction and objectives and coordinate business unit leaders’ understanding of organizational priorities/projects.
  4. ACA LEADERSHIP/TEAMWORK: Provide leadership to branches and association in meeting its goals and objectives through effective teamwork and cooperation. Promote open and constructive communications through adapting style, tone, and content to meet the needs of the team. Deliver feedback in a construction and positive manner and contribute positively to the overall morale of the team and association.
    ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS: Position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business/Finance, Marketing/Strategy, or B.S./B.A. in related field. Requires a minimum of 7-10 years of leadership experience with progressively increasing responsibility in technology or management experience as innovation/strategy officer or business unit manager; managing innovation within a company, handling complex relationships, and have a sound knowledge of banking and FinTech arenas. Incumbent must have prior management experience, effectively leading a team, conducting performance evaluations, goal setting/attainment, training, and motivating staff to reach required business results.  Strong marketing and interpersonal skills are required, as are verbal and written communications and analytical skills.
