As a Tax Specialist, you exhibit both strong customer relationship and technical skills in the areas of farm accounting and farm income taxation. Exceeding branch revenue goals and generating new business are keys for the position’s success. The Tax Specialist
is dedicated to finding creative solutions to meet customer needs and consistently generates superior results in terms of both quantity and quality of services provided to customers. A thorough understanding of Farm Credit East's products and services is required
in order to provide the best solution to each customer's unique needs.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in taxation and accounting. Experience with CCH Tax programs is a plus. The successful candidate will possess critical technical, customer relationship, and leadership skills.
Counties Served: Androscoggin, Cumberland, Franklin, Hancock, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Piscataquis, Penobscot, Sagadahoc, Somerset, Waldo, Washington, York
Area: The branch is located in a suburban area, with urban amenities conveniently located nearby.
Types of Businesses: This branch's agriculture is diverse, including aquatic, timber, livestock, dairy, vegetables (primarily potatoes), fruit (primarily blueberries), greenhouse/nursery, and specialty crops. Farm related businesses are also within Auburn's target market.
A Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, agricultural economics, or a related field is required. IRS Enrolled Agent designation; CPA designation preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. The ability to travel throughout Farm Credit East's territory is required. You will be expected to take and pass Farm Credit's Farm Tax Accreditation Program within first year of hire.
