As part of the Data Analytics team within Farm Credit East's Risk Management department, the position will entail supporting the organization's data analytics, forecasting, and risk modeling needs. The successful candidate will utilize technology and statistical analyses to provide actionable information to aid in decision making and understanding Farm Credit East data. The candidate will report to Farm Credit East's Data Analytics Officer.

Responsibilities/Duties

Quantitative Analysis and Modeling, Data Analytics, Forecasting: Key responsibilities of the position include executing all aspects of the data analytics lifecycle at Farm Credit East, including developing, documenting, and supporting the deployment of quantitative models and other analytic tools to provide Farm Credit East management and Board with insight into business risks facing the organization. Projects may include but are not limited to: portfolio stress testing, expected credit loss modeling and forecasting, risk rating models, profitability models, and ongoing support of the Association’s automated credit decisioning model.  This position may also work in model validation to review these and existing tools after they have been developed and deployed.
 
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with key stakeholders both internally and externally, including but not limited to Senior Management, Business Unit Leaders, and Farm Credit East's Knowledge Exchange group.  This also includes participation in applicable committees, workgroups, or project teams, both within Farm Credit East and with key Farm Credit System (FCS) partners.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science or related field of study (Economics, Statistics, Finance, Mathematics, etc.). An Advanced Degree, while not required, will be looked upon favorably.
  • Ability to develop and validate statistical models and perform quantitative economic/financial analyses for a variety of business problems
  • Working knowledge of time-series and regression modeling (ARIMA, OLS, logit/probit, etc.) techniques and basic machine learning techniques (tree-based methods, logistic regression, association mining, etc.)
  • Experience working with large datasets and analyzing data quality prior to statistical analysis
  • Experience with ETL lifecycle (data collection, prep, transformation) and modeling (including EDA) in R and/or Python programming languages
  • Experience with data visualization and dashboard creation (preferably in Power BI, Salesforce)
  • Understanding of SQL and database management techniques as well as data governance techniques and standards
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including working knowledge of VBA programming language)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a particular aptitude in communicating complex technical concepts in simpler language for the consumption of management/decision-makers
  • Must have an innovative mindset and be willing to challenge the norm in a constructive, professional way

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAS analytical software
  • Experience with credit loss forecasting, portfolio stress testing, or other regulatory modeling, either as a model developer or model validator is a plus
  • Prior experience in a financial services or banking environment is a plus
  • Experience with Salesforce and nCino is a plus
