Description/Job Summary

Summary of Position: The employee is responsible for working as a member of a cross-functional team focused on providing loans and financial services of high quality and value to customers within regulations set forth by the Farm Credit Administration, Internal Revenue Service and state and local taxing authorities as well as Association policies and procedures.  The employee is responsible for meeting the needs of the customers, growing the business of the Association and promoting a positive corporate image at all times.
The employee strengthens and expands existing customer relationships and develops new relationships with non-customers as well as cooperating agencies.  The promotion of good customer and public relations is important for the advancement of both the employee and the Association.  The employee understands all phases of the financial services delivery process and takes responsibility for meeting the needs of both external and internal customers.

The employee will assist with financial services administration within the branch office, provide record-keeping services to Farm Credit East's customers, and will complete simple and sole proprietor tax returns. The employee will also assist with the preparation of our customers' 1099 documents and will assist with year-end customer payroll processing.
The employee shall perform all other duties as assigned.

Counties Served: Chautauqua, Cattaraugus (western), Erie (northern)

Area: The branch is located in an intense agricultural area with rural communities; urban amenities are conveniently located nearby.

Types of Businesses: The branch’s agriculture is diverse, including dairy, fruit, timber, vineyards, vegetable, and cash crop. Farm Related Businesses are also within Mayville’s target market.


Depending upon experience, the incumbent is accountable for the following:

  • Direct Provision of Financial Services: Provide high value financial services to customers for a profitable fee. Accurately prepare tax returns, state and federal payroll filings, and other returns. Maintain current federal and state tax knowledge and have a thorough understanding of all tax and records software programs. Maintain proper documentation and communication with members and staff in order to respond to internal and external customer needs. 
  • Support and Processing: Provide superior customer service in all customer interactions. Provide support and assistance whenever possible to financial services customers, credit customers and team members or direct the customers to the proper service provider within the ACA. Assists with verbal and written communications with colleagues, customers, attorneys, title companies and insurance companies.
  • Accounting: Ensure the timely and accurate accounting of all loan, financial services, and general ledger transactions for members and the Association. This may include origination entries, financial services billing, various types of advances, proper payment application, establishing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, reconciliation, processing loan payouts, and GL balancing.
  • Member Relations/Teamwork: Provide outstanding customer service (both internal and external) and deliver exceptional customer experience and value by setting, communicating and meeting customer expectations. Demonstrate a strong community commitment and professional presence that contributes to the overall positive image of the ACA. Act in a forthright and ethical manner, display a positive attitude and contribute positively to the overall morale of the team and association. Assist other team members and contribute to training.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should possess strong tax, accounting, communication, organizational, computer and documentation skills.
